GX CS4-i 2025 pricing?

Was on the GX site and there's a sale through the 18th. I can have a CS4-i to my door for about $600.

Seems like a decent price compared to those shopping around. Although, I've seen in the last year folks have picked them up for under 600. So, question is do you all think are prices up from tarriffs or should I wait or get one if prices go down in winter or something?

Do they have a usual sale on black Friday or cyber Monday anything?

Are you currently running a compressor that you have faith will last awhile? Pricing is all over the place when using the Internet for your shopping so be careful of the hidded costs: shipping, free return and such. There is no better time than the present for most purchases but if you think the tariffs will be gone soon then you might want to wait. See, I really don't have an answer for you except my CS-4I has been trouble free since purchase 9 mths ago and is used twice a day to fill 480cc bottle guns to 300 BAR. A purchase through GX may give you a bit better warranty protection.

AND there is 10% off on the website bringing it down further

Yes, but then the converter is not built in. I think if there were issues with the converter causing heat internally and making shorter run times I'd consider external but, its extra things to keep track of and fuss with. I dont know that that's worth an extra 50 bucks but its a consideration.

I was considering the cs4-i because its all a fully contained ready to go package that seems to be well regarded. I could get cheaper but, I've got too many projects at any given time to justify taking on more projects...passed up on a free wood chipper for that same reason this morning, after stopping to look at it of course.

I think my next compressor will be a CS4e if the time for one comes before the new super whamadyne model/deal bursts onto the scene. My compressors are stationary and I don't take them on the road so yeah, saving $50 by not having the ps internally mounted is good for me.
That said, I did mount the ps to the side of the case on my CS3... couple "L" brackets and a couple screws... ezpz

If you need a compressor I would just buy it now. There isn’t a person in the world that knows what is going on with the tariffs. That is a total mess and at this point is up to the courts to decide if they are even legal. As far as model goes I have the regular cs4. I have the cs2 as well so have 2 external inverters so I have a backup. To me the internal inverter isn’t worth the extra money. It isn’t a hassle at all (external one) in my opinion and if it does happen to die you can just throw it away and buy another off Amazon for like 60 bucks and you are still even with cs4 I price.

CS4-i - $603 shipped from GXO

Having owned both, and currently holding the CS4-i and an E-5K2, I would advise you to go with the CS4. Why? Lower price, and the external power source is EASY to replace should it fail. Earlier failures of the internal PS for the CS4-i seem to have been rectified by GX (I had a failure right away, and GX sent me a new PS, but it took about 13 days), so there may be no issues going forward. But the ability to quickly order an external converter on Amazon and have a working compressor in 1-3 days might be a boon for some.

Save some money and go with the CS4. Or REALLY up your game and get the E-5K2, that thing is a BEAST!!

Good to know on the power supply issues I suppose thats something to consider. I'll probably also keep my pump mostly stationary on my work bench unless I leave home to shoot or hunt somewhere for whatever reason.

Just looked up the E-5K2, 2 min for 500cc fill and 1L in 3min. That seems quite fast.

Ultimately Idk at this point if this is just going to just be a backyard hobby or turn back into competitive shooting for myself or something in the future. I've always wanted to get back into competition since my younger days.
But, thats a future me issue. So keeping costs to the lower end of what I want for now is probably ideal...for now Its just a shooting sport I can actually do at home.

Yeah, that E-5K2 is a beast. It's HEAVY, but it's on wheels, sitting on my garage floor.

My CS4/4-i will take my 9 liter SCBA tank from 3000-4500 psi in about an hour. I can do that same fill using the E-5K2 in about 18-20 minutes.

I've been lusting for an E-5K2 for a while now.
I just cannot justify it
And other things to spend on (not bills, or food, or diesel) keep raising their heads

Yeah, life has a habit of getting in the way, and I CANNOT recommend the E-5K2 to anyone who doesn't have money to blow. A) Because it's expensive, and 2) Because it's HEAVY!!! You won't be lugging this beast to the range to shoot, I assure you. That's where the CS4's come in.

When I decided that I wanted and could afford an outdoor pizza oven, the Arc XL becamemy primary target based on the advice of a good friend, I decided that I could afford the E-5K2, and bought it first. Priorities, yanno? A few months later, I bought the Arc XL. :love:

It's not in everyone's budget, but I have worked long enough to put myself in a debt-free lifestyle, and don't mind spending a few extra duckies on things that really matter to me. While others are buying cars and boats, I try to buy things that improve my QoL. (Thankfully, I didn't get bitten by the PCP bug until later in life).

"Buy once/cry once" is good life advice. But "don't go into debt buying things" is even better advice.

Congress passed laws/statutes that give the sitting president the authority to change tariff rates under broad circumstances. This is a practice every president has had a hand in since before WW2.

GX Compressors are about the same price as they were ~2 years ago when I bought mine. Actually some models are less than they were 2023-2024. The CS4 series has gone up a little bit, but I think that is more a result of the sharp increase in popularity and sales. Current price on Amazon for a CS4-i is $630 shipped no tariffs.

My other comment was deleted so I must tread carefully..lol. If they aren’t tariffed right now then there is nothing to lose. I believe the tariffs will be struck down but of course the price of the compressor won’t go down so the only possibility in the near future is them going up. Now would be the time to buy for sure.
