Guys, Would'nt it be great if there would be an airgun "rental" place??

Ok, so I had this incredible brain Whopper last night, Why dosen't someone start an airgun rental business??

The demand for such a business would be HUGE!!! (I think)

I imagine it would work something like this, Someone buys a couple impacts, leshys, vulcans crickets. streamlines, mutants, etc.........

and here is a guy looking to buy an airgun, but he's not sure what he wants, so he calls the rental place, puts down a 1800 deposit, (to prevent theivery,) he rents the vulcan for a week at say 25 bucks a week, he finds out he dosen't like it, so he sends it back and orders the impact for a week.... This he finds is the perfect gun, so he orders himself one!

The 50 bucks he spent on shipping and rental stopped him from buying a gun he would not have even liked!!! That is a total no-brainer!

Then we have the reality of all these new airguns coming out all the time.... I would gladly spend 200$ to get my hands on a edgun Leshiy or an impact for 2-3 weeks, but I am almost certain I would not want to spend the 1400-1700 to own one... it would be wasted money..... I already have a .22 and .25 cricket.... I really do not NEED another airgun, but I always have the ITCH to try out and appreciate other makes and models

Am I crazy guys? what do you all think........

Well every gun I buy is a " rental " . I know when I buy it that it'll be gone before long . There are SO many guns I wanna try , but can't afford to have a big stable of guns.
So I buy good quality used rifles and when I get the itch to try another she's back up on the classifieds before you know it . I'm not the type that gets attached to my guns so it's no big deal . But I do know some guys have a HARD time parting with guns and such. I only have on "keeper" my Dad's ol deer rifle . Everything else is just a toy that's gonna get sold sooner or later 😎

"Deja"same here but 25 bucks for a week? lol lets say each gun costs 1500.

60 weeks before he gets his money back. realistically more like 2 years.
But your not getting the big picture here Deja, Whoever that fellow is has the supreme luxury of owning all those guns, and using them as much as he wants, while at the same time making a little money on the side, do a little math, if he had 6-8 guns out on rent which I don't see it being a problem at all, that quickly comes to 6-8 hundred bucks a month,

Not quite what you're suggesting, but firing ranges routinely rent guns for use on their range. It wouldn't be a big step for a range to offer a few airguns as well. For it to work, the range owner would have to have an interest and some knowledge, but I think it's fairly common for pb gun stores to carry some air guns too. Or maybe a dedicated airgun range could do it. I visited Davis Airguns in Mt. Victory, OH and they let me shoot (it was their idea, not mine) two guns on their range, an FX Royale 400 .22 and an AA 510 .22. I had never shot a PCP, and man, did those high end guns ever plant a seed in me. Not every airgun store can do this but they're located in a very rural area. The point is that getting the gun in the hands of prospective customers is a good way to stoke interest and sell guns.

In order to be profitable the guns would probably cost between $150-$250 per week plus someone has to cover the cost of shipping. That price would be just for the guns, and then you would need to mark up the price more for overhead costs. AOA has worked with UPS for a rate of $32.50 for guns to be sent to them. If you take that and include it into the rate a gun like an Impact would be costing right around $400 for a week. At that rate you can buy one, have it for 6 months and then sell it and be right about even. I don't think it could be economical as of right now with the way shipping costs would be.

I think a more profitable method would be opening a shop in TX, MT, WY, UT, NM, AZ, CO, ect... and then do airgun hunts. There you could either bring your own or rent one. The rental fee could be negotiated so that after a few days you could switch guns if you didn't like it. Then at the end of a week hunting you could decide on what gun you wanted and receive a discount on the cost. They could also have a storefront. Now this is sounding a lot like AOA and their Airgun only Adventures.

I thought about this and thought this would have to be some kind of store of some sort,
The love and the attention that I have shown my guns getting the scope level, sighting it in cleaning the bore and greasing the O rings
Have some one unbox handle my gun slam pellets through the barrel not take the time and pride to clean it , Check the o rings , slap it in a box and ship it on makes me want to vomit. I know , I know , Its just me , You do not sit on my bikes either, Nor do I rent my women out.
I am strange like that , and I know there is a lot more out there like me.
Its got to be a store or some one that runs a BROTHEL like JOE , LOL, Its a joke .
