Guns with Externally Adjustable Regulators?

I bought a Kalibr Argus in .30 cal that was not performing to spec with a litany of hammer spring adjustments. Trying to get the regulator adjusted was a complete and total nightmare! All in all, the gun was defective and had to be returned, but what this taught me was I most certainly needed my next gun to have an externally adjustable regulator.
I wasn't a fan of the bottle front design on airguns, but in the end, the FX Maverick VP with dual externally adjustable regulators won me over. I'm extremely happy with my decision. There is no way I'll spend > $1K on a gun without an externally adjustable regulator. This makes the Kalibr and AGT offerings seem significantly overpriced with this omission.

I can from abmanufacturing point of view understand some does not make that option. I personally know how easy it is to damage a reg under pressure. Often unexperuansed users will mess the gun up if they can. Some belive more pressure equals more power, and adjust to far. The FX regs can easy lead to leaks if adjusted to far (beyond flush),where an O-ring can blow. And even the newer generations, can be ruined by lowering pressure, if no the right prosidures are followed. Even many faults are done by user errors, it can lead to bad reputation of the manufacturer, as many will probably not admit they made the mistakes themself (hoping for a waranty repair).

Edgun Leshiy 2 with the REPR can be adjusted up or down without degassing. I own the .30 with a 450mm barrel and average fps is 865 at 140bar; shooting 50.2gr JSB’s.
I also own the FX Impact MK2, MK3 and DreamTac and each has an external regulator but in the case of the M3 the front is internal and the second is external.

Yes, I have the Maverick VP in .30cal and it is a tack driver!
The Maverick has two regulators, which at first I didn't quite understand, but now I get the reason why they did it this way. I run reg one at 155 and reg two at 125. This gives me 930fps with FX Hybrid Slugs, JSB Hades and JAB Exacts 44.75gr out of the 600mm barrel on power wheel 7. I did have to add the heavy hammer, as my Maverick didn't come with the 14gram one installed. I get around 32 shot on regulator with max power out of a 400cc bottle at 230bar. If I add the 480cc 250bar bottle, I'll probably get closer to 45 full power shots.

yeah you can get an external regulator and tether 'any' pcp .. id venture to say 99% of folks that whine about needing it on the gun and put a clown bottle with 700cc capacity for the 'one thousand' shot count, shoot off a bench anyway ...

This thread has helped me "find" the RTI guns. Some of them, the Performance models, already come with an ext. adj. reg. All their models (Priest I and II, Prophet) can be upgraded with a part that has the reg, the adjuster, and two gauges.
Hopefully, I can find a used RTI gun, as this is really stretching the capacities of my piggy bank.....

Yes, simplicity is the answer for consistent accuracy.
The ability to adjust regulators on the fly is a recipe for endless frustration. Sounds great in theory, but unless you have a very stable system and document everything - you'll spend more time finding and readjusting to optimal pressures for various pellets/slugs than shooting.
