Guns in your safe that you don't like

Hello Sir, I have the same rifle and in same cal. But, I am actually surprised with your experience. I had fiddled with mine fifteen to sixteen times initially to incr power, but finally settled at 135bar on regulator after installing Huma, now producing avg 918 fps/ 33.95gn (plenum installed).
BUT, THE CRAVING FOR OVER 70FPE WAS STILL THERE AFTER COMPARING IT WITH MAVERICK, VUKCAN 3, ETC.
This is the learning.... after studying a lot of comments, contacting Mr Charlie Frear and also buying a FX chrono.
"Cricket .25, with plenum installed, is best at max 132 to 135 regulator bar and HST tightening to achieve 918 to 920fps, NOT beyond that". No one who tinkered with this gun for MORE has ever been satisfied. Here is the perfect balance of accuracy, power, consistency and shot count.

You may contact specialists on this group as Mr Charlie and Mr Derrick ..... the Cricket can never be inaccurate or inconsistent.

Hoping for a try once more.
Best wishes
Thanks for your advices , I'll try these settings ; moreover I removed the end cap to put an 1/2 UNF adapter and a silencer , not sure this one is perfectly centered. The gun is a bit noisy to shoot in my garden , next time i'll go to the shooting center I'll try it without the silencer, just to see. Probably have a look for Huma reg / plenum .....
I'll post the results after these modifications ;)
This is a pic of the cap modification

Have a good day

Ever had a gun that really didn't / doesn't mean much to you, but you were / are VERY accurate with it ?

Some time back, I bought a KalibrGun, Cricket II, in .22 cal. It's got the full wood WSA stock. Visually, it's fine. The stock is nicely done, well finished. It fits the hard parts well. There's nothing wrong with the way it all works, it doesn't leak air, the trigger is nice. The little "chamber" that I tried on the barrel, actually does a good job of quieting it that last little bit to make it "house" friendly.

I know from reading the "for sale" adds that many buy guns and it ends up that, they're "not a good fit" !
For whatever reason, this is one such gun. I don't know why, but it is. This is one of my guns that just sits. Yesterday, I aired it up and filled the magazine (one of the best designs), put up a fresh target and started shooting. My "dot" targets are about 5/8" in diameter. Yeah I shoot a short distance, freehand, but when I can put (5 at each dot) all five shots at about a nickel's diameter, the whole magazine worth...WHY don't I like this gun ?
It actually does shoulder well, it's got a good weight, so that it's easy to aim...but...it's FAR from a favorite, and I don't know why.

It's probably that yellow protector you have on the fill probe. LOL , Actually you may just be bored with it.. Sometimes I have a airgun that has so few problems and shoots so well that I can't do much with it. Other times I'm not willing to do my part to make it do what I want but either way... Boredom might be what you're suffering from. My Argus was kind of that way. I got over 30 accurate very powerful shots and never really had a problem with it so I sold it. I convinced myself that 30 shots no matter how powerful and accurate weren't enough but really it was boringly reliable.
Maybe it's time to take it out and just shoot it only for a week or two and see how you feel.

I do not like airguns with choked barrels ;ike the Kral airguns I own.

I have owned 3 Kral airguns with choked barrels that are inaccurate with many pellets.
For a .22 Kral NP03 I have found 2 pellets it likes (not cheap).
For a .177 Kral NP03 and a Benjamin Akela .22 (made by Kral) I have not found any pellets that are accuarate enough.

I have no intention to pay 4/5 cents a pellet for a $250-$400 airgun.

I have a Benjamin 1720 that I have set up with a RAI adjustable stock and a red dot. I would like to set it up as a FT pistol instead of how it is. I really never shoot it in this configuration. However I have the opportunity to work with a group of kids. Everyone in awhile a family will come to the house. I have a few 4 wheelers and let the kids ride around a little. I also introduce them to the guns with the 1720. Almost anyone can hit targets with that set up. It is funny how kids have changed since I was that age 50 yeas ago. Most of the kids think the gun is cool but want to go back to riding or something else. But a few have wanted to just shoot and shoot. So I keep the 1720 set up like it is for now.

Yeah, funny that you say that.
Over the last week or so, I have pulled a couple out that I haven't shot in a while and put a few magazines through them.
BUT...the Cricket wasn't...one of them. Next week I will. I have a couple others that need some exercising too.
Plus one that needs some fresh o-rings. Thought I had it fixed, but nope, still leaking. Needs a full teardown.

Aea Hp carbine. Third non functional aea gun. Returned the other two. One lemon after another. This time it needs a new poppet after just a handful of shots. The previous three times I tried to shoot it jammed before emptying a single magazine. I need to replace the poppet but I’m tired of trying to get these guns to hold air or fire a full mag without a jam.
