Guns being used

How many people are looking at the panthera as a viable contender?

What say you guys that are actually shooting in matches now?
If you’re a serious competitor and you haven’t at least considered this gun for prs/nrl style competition you’d better bring your A game because this thing is a game changer and you best believe I’ll be running one as soon as I can get my hands on it

I have an impact m3 that I just recently got. I'm still working on the tune and finding what ammo is best but it already has GREAT potential at 100 yards.
I have had very good results with H&N barracuda match, I have been getting 1/2-3/4 inch groups at 100 as long as the wind is down, my M3 has a 600mm barrel and I’m shooting at 875fps,

Well that big airgun class rule change threw me for a loop. I was hesitant to reconfigure my Maverick from the compact setup that I've been running since the summer (50.15gr tuned for 850 with a little 330mm TJ .. it'll shoot faster than that, but it's just been too much fun with the 26 shot mag from Midwest Elite). The problem being that I've not been able to find alternatives that check enough of my boxes that put them on the same playing field.

Not saying that I don't have any other tack drivers, but I realized that it would be senseless not to use this ugly somebetch given that I literally fabricated nearly single upgrade that checked every one of those boxes. I also put about as much work into the 4 different barrels that I setup for it, every single one of which will follow me to the grave, so today I made the decision to do a bit of reconstructive surgery ahead of some upcoming matches:

Threw in a 600mm barrel and installed my longer locking barrel shroud. Rather than mill down my longer "Sniper" size K&L Arca rail (too long for the 300cc bottle), I threw in the 480cc. Turned the regs back up and swapped out the lighter hammer system:

I got it dialed in with 62gr Varmint Knockers in the 990's, but the recoil frankly sucks and I know that I would wind up missing the smaller KYL spinners and regretting the setup (like mental complex mitigation). So I dialed the reg back to 180 or so for .22/600mm for 34gr. This setup is actually one of the quietest tunes this rifle can have (very short, snappy, and consistent shot cycle). I'm going to run 2S nose in NRL, but this was with some older 34.1gr Varmint Knockers in a harder cast with a wider meplat than 2S:

I'm shooting a .25 FX Impact X with Slug A liner and Athlon Midas BTR gen2 4.5-27x scope, and NSA 43.5 slugs at 950 fps. I REALLY wanted to love the NSA 38.9 at 1000 FPS, and they were accurate, but not quite as accurate in the wind as the 43.5's at 950 FPS. I also tried the ZAN 41's from both the Slug A and Superior Heavy and neither had the accuracy of the NSA in the Slug A...
Yeah, the 43.5gr at 950 were VERY accurate in my old Impact with the slug A (despite the wind). 158bar, I remember that vividly. It was just difficult when the rifle would lose that fine tuning a weekend or two after (wasted a couple of Saturdays back to back trying to find that tune, and then sold the rifle LOL).

I was seriously thinking about getting .22 rimfire until I saw the threads on the Panthera and now I'm all turned around. For all the stuff I've been checking out for PCP's and FT, I'd ignored all the slug talk thinking that was just for hunters. Now I'm looking at all of this differently. The only downside is the cost and extra bits. But after comparing things, I feel like there's benefits to airguns, like cross-discipline usage and of course, pellets and slugs and even pellugs (Halo) are cheaper. Quieter and no tax stamp nonsense. Now I have to rethink my PRS ideas...

Just got my Panthera .30 cal in yesterday. Glad to retire my powder burner and start using a PCP. Look forward to taking it to the March NRL 22 match. So far only shot it in my back yard at 25 yards but I think it is going to be a beast. Hopefully take it out to the range next weekend and see what it can do at 100, 200 and 300 yards.

I've had my 700mm Panthera for about a month now and have shot three matches (2 NRL22 monthly, 1 NRL22X) with solid results. Using the ZAN 30.5gr .218's at around 1000fps. 140bar on the reg, 23 macro, 2.5micro and I'm getting around 30 shots when filling to 300bar. Haven't really shot much paper with it but when I aim at a steel target and I hear a "ding" I don't really care what the group size is.

Agree, and that shows just how talented a shooter Boyd is winning RMAC PRS with relatively low BC lightweight .22 slugs! Quite an accomplishment considering the next 5 or 6 finishers below him shot slugs with close to double the BC of the ones he used, in VERY windy conditions… The second place finisher (Dubber) was essentially shooting a .22 Rimfire with 40 grain slugs at 1050 fps.
Maybe we’ll get lucky and my own personal troll will chime in and give his opinion on the matter…?
😂 Finally found a tune that allows the M-Rod to exceed 110 flb with a.25 cal 47gr! slug! I'm going to play the Lotto now!

I quit Field target all together when i had a glimps of PRS/NRL!!!!

So now i got 8 people enthousiastic to rebuilt there air rifles!

For now we can only go up to 50 meters, and were in contact with ranges that facilitate 100/200 meter outdoor!

So detuned the Priest to 40 joules or close to 30 ftp.. and with some ali express mounts and bipod made a start to do tryouts..

A re-used matchrifle airtube lowers de profile, and as soon as i get mij hands on some aluminium ( aluminum) lower it even more!

All the carbon parts and butstock are homemade..so turned my Priest from this…
