Gun Vise/Rest

I just received my CTK Precision P3 gun vise along with the benchrest and pistol add ons. This is the best vise I have seen. Priced right, simple, and very functional!! Here is a link to amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000W75L32?keywords=ctk%20precision%20p3%20ultimate%20gun%20vise&qid=1445055669&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1
I bought this to be used as my go to gun vise for work and setup, but bought the add ons for the few times I might use it as a shooting setup. I have plenty of quality adj front rest and more sandbags than I can count, but this is a very nice setup. No, it is not what you would use for BR, but for home use as a sight in rest and specifically as a gun vise for doing work, it is really nice.

I did go ahead and fill the frame of the vise with lead shot so that it is rock solid for any use. It was pretty good before, but it is now like a rock!! I cleaned all my airgun barrels, lubed probe and barrel o-rings, and such today. This vise is awesome. I even played around with clamping the vise with a gun locked in it to a bench top vise to position the gun for certain work. This thing is AWESOME!! One of the best investments I have made.

Aj I do powder gunsmithing and use the Lyman Rotating gun vise for gun work. It is very sturdy and you can adjust the angle of the gun to work on hard to get places and still have the gun locked in the padded vise. It will not hold the front of the PCP bottle guns like in the photo, but it won't move when clamped at the butt stock anyway. The mounts/feet also slide together or apart, and there is two cleaning rod holders on both sides. It has a sliding covered tray for parts when working on the gun.

Over the years I have tried all the gun vices and settled on this one. I don't know if it can be shot off of effectively as i used a Led Sled Plus or bags for that purpose. Your choice is very good as you can do both with it. Paul

But this thing is slick and quick to adjust.. Just another choice, and the price is less now then when I bought mine. Here it is at $65.00 from Amazon.com

The description says it can be used for shooting from, but I would not try it with a powder burner as it is pretty lightweight.

A PCP would be fine but there is no real elevation ability unless you put blocks under the front or little pads on the front mount area. I forgot to say it also comes with a small adapter for hand guns. You just slide the back to you he front and re tighten the base....real versatile.
