Hi Guys
When oiling your gun are you meant to oil the inside of the barrel? Is there any recommended tips for keeping it clean.

No,just use the right cleaning rods and jigs,no oil in barrel,I think the lead is a good coating,don't be needing to clean your barrel much,when you first get a new gun ,yes.Some people have rifles they need to clean more often they say.

If its a pump gun, oiling the pump piston pretty much means everything down stream is getting oiled too.

Do not use petroleum based oils if there is a chance it contacts rubber or inside the barrel or places where pressure is held. Quick way to grenade something. Moving parts, Places where friction and wear occur. Joints should be oiled or greased. Usually Silicone oil/grease, and or Moly grease

what is gun oil
gun oil came in a cleaning kit back min the day it was designed for Powder Burners and we would have a bottle of Hoppes no. 9 sitting close by we would take the guns apart clean them and oil them down
those were the days that 3 in1 oil was the thing to have for those squeaks
but time have changed and an AIR GUN is not a Powder Burner and i believe the only time gun oil could be used is ion a rag to wipe the metal down
when you shoot say PB pistols you would come home and clean your pistol before storage you would take iot apart and use a Lewis Lead Remover on the barrel and reassemble and lube the slide and store and even i never used Gun Oil because i was use Break Free in a spray can, is it Gun Oil or just the replacement of the 3 in 1 oil that WD40 did
now we never take a AG down like a PB and the places that need lube should have some grease added and just a little
Gun Oil and Air Guns only on the outside
