My muzzle was around 1 foot from it for both shots.

What was I doing this for?

I've done the same type of test shooting at the target from about 4ft away with both air guns and .22 rimfires just to see how much hold over I would need for really close shots. Every once in a blue moon I will get a squirrel jumping out right in front of me.
