Hoping someone here has more insight on these stocks than what I can find on the web!!! Do I have to use the special GRS Stock oil, or can a fella use any old stock oil? I have had my MKII Crown for a few months and just want to oil my stock to keep it nice. Thank in advance.

Do not use oil on wood use wax, oil raises the grain on woods that are not sealed and will make sealed stocks slippery. You will like the way wax makes it look and it will help grip with bare hands. Johnsons paste wax is what I have but there are other brands that should work equally well.

I agree with the wax instead of oil. The GRS stocks have a dull finish to them so any oil finish will give it a smoother and higher sheen finish. There are a few good gun stock waxes out there, Brownell’s sells some. It may still result in a slightly higher sheen but will dull down with use. You might want to clean the stock with a mild soap like Dawn to remove dirt and oils you have applied while handling it. I love my GRS Streamline stock. If I were to build a powder burner I would go with a GRS on it.
