Groundhogs, is .22 cal and 30 FPE enough?

It’s probably been said 1000times by now but you aren’t getting a good placed shot if they aren’t dropping. It doesn’t take a whole lot to take them down but placing the shot is the hardest part. We all make mistakes even when we are sure we didn’t, it happens! Plenty to kill one, just need luck or practice

This variety of groundhogs require high powered armor piercing ultra velocity mega energy center fire rifles. The rest can be taken with air rifles with proper shot placement. I think of air rifle hunting like bow hunting. Know your personal limitations with your pellet gun of how far you can shoot a 1” group from your hunting shooting position. Know the range and know the anatomy from every angle and aim where you want the pellet to exit.
