They are tough animals, I've shot hundreds with lotsa different cf. cals, and with any airgun I would only use a brain shot or the animal will make it down it's hole and suffer until death. Shooter should have waited for a clean head shot.
@estarkey7 Have you chronographed those slugs with that tune before? Is this a stock Bulldog? Pitbull? Veradium? If you’ve chronographed shot strings using the NSA slugs, how many fps have you clocked them at the muzzle?

I have them at 730fps at the muzzle on a stock Bulldog.

Sounds about right. I’ve clocked some 145 grain Noslers at 735 fps from 2600 psi. Wish I had some heavier NSA slugs to compare to your numbers. I was kind of surprised the slug didn’t blow through its body. My caveat is that I’ve only shot paper and wood at 25 yards and beyond. Also I’ve never shot a groundhog. Have you tried shooting them with pellets from your Bulldog?
Hope he didn't make it back under the porch, oh the stench.

Here is a video of a groundhog shot at 57 yards with the Bulldog using Predator Polymags. He's dead right there.

Also, upon further review, I see that I did get a complete pass-through on the groundhog that I somehow overlooked. My bad!

Out of curiosity, what was your POA relative to where the slug impacted?
I'm still mapping out trajectory for the NSA 20.2gr slugs out of my Cricket II beyond 50yds, but out to 50, they're practically flat.

In my experience a stock Bulldog throws 81 grain pellets rather nicely in the low 900 - high 800 fps range. If you prefer slugs in your Bulldog, maybe consider a power tune. I’ve noticed a marked difference between a stock and tuned Bulldog shooting slugs. I’m sort of under the impression that you aren’t new to the Bulldog. Whatever the case, good looking result with the Predator Polymags in the video.
