Ground squirrel appreciation thread

What did you take them with on your last trip out, specs on the gun, range. Pics prefered.

These were a disco I bought here, converted to 177 810 fps 10.34 Hades, 40 yards. All headshots

I have about 200 videos but too lazy & inept on the editing program. If I decide to do the labor on some I'll post them here. I know I've killed more than 100 since the beginning of May. The last 3 or 4 weeks I've been neglecting using my beloved FX Boss (44.75 Hades @885fps) which was always my go-to. I'm in the "honeymoon" period with the .22, Edgun r3 long I acquired from my pal Mike (Centercut). It's a slug dedicated gun using Daystate Howlers, 20.3gr or FX Hybrids, 22gr. Been enjoying it soooo much. Hollow point slugs are devastating! I'll try to post some pics or vids here.
Here's one I posted a while back (ignore the 2 rabbits since this thread is about Ground Squirrels :p)

Mine is tuned to shoot JSB 18gr @ 970fps and reallly likes NSA 17.5gr/20.2gr .2175 at that tune the 17.5gr fly @ 950fps.....so yeah, mines barrel likes them!
I have probably a thousand of those floating around because my magazines didnt like them. My aea shoots them but didn't want to cycle them, my impact was magazine issues and too high a tune level.

I set up my buddies transitional Martin/airforce hmx1000 after a rebuild and it landed on one of those miracles you just don't mess with if you have the experience. It goy reassembled and wad perfectly harmonic tuned of mrds I loaded the zulus with a table, tested it at 17 and 30 yards to see if it worked, it did. Take 1 shot at 94 yards and feather bomb a starling.

Welp that's done and I ain't touching it, back to its owner.

In paper it was insanely good too. Like 100 thousandths c2c groups at 50. At first I didn't understand the design of the raw and didn't like some things.... I then learned to love it. It's like an iPhone, a curated environment. My impact was kinda like a Linux based phone. Hardware is there, it's up to you to figure it out and make it work right. I may own a raw micro hunter one day for 1 ammo and see if it likes those, and replace my aeas position in the lineup.

Such a perfect shot presentation!
Thank you bro

It’s like my daddy always told me “sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.” 😂😂😂

All jokes aside I have put a lot of work into this gun, nothing major other than a light porting job, to make it shoot exactly how I want it to shoot.… for those us hunters just know that this gun is not fragile at all. All 9.5 feet of this thing rides shotgun on gravel roads and I never have POI issues.

9.5 feet 😂 that's how I feel about a few guns.
Haha that’s how the 250z feels sometimes with the moderator added on. But it’s light! And the Zulus is very light for a digital scope so I really can’t complain. Still not my favorite gun to shoot offhand I’ve ever had but maybe the best to shoot off imperfect structure… this shoot was with my car door all the way open with a bag of rice wedged in between and me half-sitting/standing… not super comfy but the gun balances really well so no complaints from me.

Honestly the opposite of complaints haha. I’ve spent a lot of money I had planned to use on a second more nimble gun to be my truck gun but I just can’t stop pouring love into the barra. It’s already exceeded expectations and I still have a plenum mod coming in the next few weeks to make things even better lol.

This is my first real pcp and it feels like this hobby is the best decision I’ve made in years haha. Before January I hadn’t shot anything in more 5-6years cuz I was so bored with it.

I have no issues with said slugs with the OEM mags or after market ones...h'mmm...but, I single shot load (CARM) at home but use mags when pesting. My RAW is a 2017 HMx, it has the smaller breech and thinner mags, it also has an OEM small plenum extension.
