I want to remove the slow fill on my great white tank, can it be done?? And do i hve to degass the tank or not? Thank you.
Yes you have to degas for sure and replace the slo-flow valve for a regular valve either SCUBA or DIN300
rangur1 - you will have to empty the tank of air. Then unscrew valve.
When you remove the nut on the bottom of the valve you see a check valve like this:

The way I see it is you have two options for faster flow. Remove the check valve, or take a Dremel and put a small score into the side of the check valve near the top so air will flow by faster.
The valve does not need to be replaced. The flow restrictor is a brass hex head threaded piece in the base of the valve at the bottom of the threaded base that screws into the tank. Empty your tank first. Unscrew the valve body from the tank. Use a crescent wrench or the exact wrench size that fits the brass hex nut at the base of the valve and remove it from the valve. That's it. This instruction is only for Airtanksforsale valves.
In an Omega tank valve, the restrictor is in the base of the detachable 300DIN hose assembly. It is the black hex head set screw threaded into the air hole. Use an allen key to remove it. Keep it stored safely in case you decide to reinstall it again.
My restrictor is an asset when filling most of my guns but on some it can be tricky. Some rifles have fairly restrictive fill ports. When you use a flow restricted valve the pressure shoots up quickly on the gauge because the microbore hose fills to the pressure in your tank before it settles back down as air enters the rifle. To some this can be very unsettling as it appears the rifle is over pressurized. It takes a little practice to understand what's going on and it can be unsettling at first.
