Great White 97 cu ft VS Alkin W31

I purchased a new Great White 97 cu ft tank last week that arrived yesterday. Last fall, I purchased an Alkin W31 compressor. Heretofore, it hadn’t run any length of time as it would top off about 100 bar on my Venturi 74 cu ft tanks in about 7 minutes.

Hooked it up to the Great White and it filled the completely new and empty tank in 28 minutes. It is amazing.

I use mine on 450 cu/ft steel cylinders. I then use the cylinders as a bank to fill all my other items.

A 6 liter tank from takes about 25 minutes from zero to 5000 psi (hot fill pressure settles to 4500 at ambient temp).

I have two Air Venturi 74 cu ft tanks that continue to serve me well with my own concocted protection and feet package. The gauges on the Great White appear to be of much better quality though I have never had an issue with the standard gauges on the Air Venturi CF tank package. I really like the fill hose that came with it and the armor package, feet, and carry straps appear to be rugged and well thought out.

I filled my empty SCBA large tanks from empty to 4500 psi in about 20 min each with my Alkin W31. If you don’t want to have to do a top off you put your tank in a bucket of cold water when filling.
