Great day at the gun show Beeman R8 & P1

Went to a small show today and picked up a couple Beemans. The P1 .177 was $240.00 and the R8 was $140.00 very happy with my score.

They come up on eBay pretty frequently...

I prefer to purchase new stock. I have not had the best of luck with used springers. Once bitten twice shy.

Pretty hard to find a "new stock" R8 or P1 ! Like nearly impossible!

I agree. I keep eyeballing Weihrauch pistols at

The HW44 is my favorite pistol. Would like to own a few other models.

I see plenty of P-1's on Ebay I bought my .22 cal on there, but havent seen an R-8 for a while.

I didnt even know what a R8 was until I got home. I know enough to know any vintage R series Beeman rifle is worth more then $140.00

Talk about a good day! Two great airguns for sure.

For my money, the P1 / HW 45 is the best springer air pistol ever made, outside of recoilless match pistols. Excellent power, accuracy, trigger, sights, just a wonderful gun.

If you go looking for tuning parts etc., keep in mind the R8 is based on the OLD HW 50, which is much different from the current rifle of that designation. It has the nifty threaded-on rear end and uses a 25 mm piston seal (same as the R7 / HW 30). Maccari and Vortek both carry upgrade parts for these. That gun was made for about 50 years, and many consider the R8 to be the best version of it.
