Hey Mike! Can you explain to me how you are scoring the card. I am new to this so I just want clarification...target 9 and 15 do not look like they are touching the small circle so just me looking I thought that those would be scored as 9. Unless they are touching the ring and I cant tell...Thanks and great shooting!!!
Good question. BR competitions are scored using plugs of the maximum caliber. In this case the max caliber is .22. The official plug diameter is .224”. You read the outer diameter of the plug. If someone shot this target with .177....the plug would make their smaller hole read as .224”. It makes shooting different calibers fair.
If you measure a clean 22 cal pellet hole in card stock paper...it’s usually between .150”-.170” because the paper shrinks back around the hole.
Here is a pic of number 15 with the plug inserted and a 8x slide magnifier. If there was any white showing between the ring and the plug it would be a 9.
