Happened upon this unlucky gal just after dinner. We had a huge spinoff rainstorm all day from the hurricane, and it let up around 6pm. I was rinsing off my dishes and seen her coming back to the tree for the evening. Luckily I had prepared for that and had the Kral 25 mini tac ready to go.

I slowly popped the side door of the garage open and by this time she was only 10 yards out. I quickly dialed my magnification back and let one fly, aiming for the lungs. She didn't hunch or flinch, just ran up the tree.

Dammit! I missed! So I grabbed my red torch and started looking in the tree to find her. She was hiding on the backside of a branch and laying down so I couldn't get a shot. It quickly got dark so I called it.

I went out this morning to refill the bait station that got knocked over AGAIN by the raccoons, and happened to see her laying in the grass. I guess I hit her after all.

Looks like I hit just a little low and she laid there and bled out. The wind must have knocked her out over night. I'm honestly surprised the coons didn't clean her up too.

The mini tac got another gray, a younger male this time, just before sunset.

Took my shot right as he dipped back down off his rock perch for some corn, and hit him in between the shoulders and it ran back to his right hip, just under the skin.

He flopped and I thought he was dead, then it sprang back to life and up the tree he went. I found this one pretty easy and took a follow up mercy shot.

That hit left front and exited thru the right side lung.

He had an interesting pattern, like racing stripes.

That last pic you can see the 1st pellet under the skin on the right hip.
