Okay yesterday I was a sucker and ordered some Javelin Slugs from Krale, and they arrived this morning. During lunch I set up the range and did a little test and examination of the slugs.
Visual impression: I am no expert at slugs etc for knowing what to look for, but here is what I see. Packaging as we already know is simple in the tube / capped ends, no “stuffing” to limit movement of slugs in container, and the caps are pretty stiff coming off, so I don’t see the cap falling off in your bag. I will let the photos below speak for themselves.
Slug specs: .22 cal / 23 grain / OD .218
Gun: FX Impact Compact .22 cal - still at factory settings more or less and shot at max setting - 747 FPS and 28.5 ft/lbs measured using my FX pocket Chrony. Slug shot into two apples at 10 yardish. (Yeah I know apples aren’t “legitimate“ ballistics media, but it is better than noting.”
