Got my .177 Crown today

My .177 Blue Laminate FX Crown came today. I've been wanting this gun ever since they came out. I finally pulled the trigger, so to speak, and got it from Ken Hicks at SPAW. It's even more beautiful in real life that it looks in pictures. Ken asked how I wanted it set up & I told him which pellets in .177 I've had shoot good in several guns. (10.3 Air Arms and JSB's) This is my 3rd FX gun from Ken & all have been excellent shooters. Sometimes I can hardly believe that they are so accurate.

Barrel is 500mm, set up at: Avg fps. 989 with 3.5 std dev. shooting 10.34 Air Arms Field Heavy pellet . 135 Bar reg. setting. Hammer spring adjustment was left alone as received but reset to #5 for most accurate & above fps setting. I'm happy with this as it now shoots dead on at 30 yards and 2 mil dots down at 50 which is my extreme max range with this gun for small game. The group opened up a bit at 50 to just over 1-1/2 inches but the wind was becoming a factor at 5-10 left to right & I did not try to compensate. I still need to level & plumb everything up to eliminate any inclination to cant as I tend to do for some reason. Lots of excellent potential here for a .177 short range pellet gun from Ken Hicks. I tried some Griffin 10, 11, 12 & 13 grain slugs out of this barrel & it didn't like any of them. We'll see if FX ever makes .177 FX hybrid slugs & Superior barrel liners for us to try. I did not get a chance to try the older/present version of the 15.5 NSA .177 slugs that I have as of yet. I'm not hopeful with this barrel. Scope rings for now are just Lepers or UTG 30mm High picatinny. They seem OK, are secure & are working well as far as I can tell.
