I loved my rws 48 in 22 caliber.. I can't handle the recoil anymore of even my gamo garden shotgun in 22 caliber.. so maybe one day I'll get a 54 air king..

i do not, i did have a mid 90's model 54, but it was not an air king. and it would
break an average scope in a heart beat !!
i love my 92 model 48/52 in .177, its a 20fpe accurate hunter and a pleasure to shoot......

but wasn't all the model 54 recoilless? I understand that that doesn't help the scope because the rails for the recoilless part are between the action and the stock..I did read that they now have a recoilless scope mount available too, but honestly I prefer open sights.. I just can't shoot most everything with recoil..I shot my 357 lever action a couple years ago and I was only using 38 and I only shot 4-5 rounds and I was hurting for a week.. 12 shots out of the gamo garden shotgun in 22 caliber and I'm sore for several days..

I just chatted with a guy who had a air king in the classifieds and it was sold..he said absolutely no recoil, just a click and the action would slide slightly to the rear..

35 years ago I had a rws Diana 48 in 22 caliber and I loved it..
also had a Beeman P1 in 177..
I keep thinking about getting another P1 in 177 and a air king in the same caliber although I prefer 22 caliber.. it's nice to have matching caliber I think..
