Got another Taipan on the way!

Well I got 70 shots from it above 40fpe on a 250bar fill. But was tuned poorly at that point. 850 fps is what I had the power set at but off the reg (45 shots) the shots rose to 900fps and then fell back to 850 by shot 70. I have since turned it up to 900fps but yet to chrony a full string. I'm filling my air tank right now so will do a string probably when I get the Shorty and do them both the same day. And as far as I know yes they have the same airtube size.

What do you plan on using it for? Ive had the Mutant Standard in .22 and have the Veteran Standard in .25 and loved both probably equally but love the .25 for the added long range knock down power for hunting. I do think the Shorty will be an excellent 50yd and closer hunting gun for me. The Standard is also very comfortable shooting off a bench and shooting from a bipod prone as every other position I've tried as well. I'm assuming the Shorty will be nice as well.

Got the Shorty today! I love this little thing. Came shooting at 900fps with JSB 18gr which was way higher than I wanted. Turned down to 850fps with the 18gr to just see how many shots and it was close to 40 shots if I had to guess. Will run a chrony string later. And if it's close to that many shots I won't even turn it down lower like I had planned on doing. Accuracy was typical being one hole groups at 25yds.

Thanks guy. It's a fantastic air rifle hence why I have 2 :) took it out shooting sage rats yesterday afternoon and even in 15mph wind was having no problems shooting squirrels out to 50yds. What I also love is how I can handle these guns alot and still never hafta worry about it not being on target. Very solid guns. Will be doing groups at 50yds and a Chrony string as soon as I get time and there's no wind

I love the black "TACTICOOL" stock look.
Here's mine in the same configuration but in brown. The .22 shorty is very accurate. I just received my Athlon scope and can't wait to test my .25 standard this weekend.

All I can say is you got great taste in guns LOL! :) That Ronin looks good on there as well as the Athlon scope! How does the Hugget do on the Shorty? I like the all black look but too be honest once the paint gets scratched or some is missing etc I plan on stripping the paint to see what's underneath and do like Ernest did and do a light color finish on the wood. I like the wood look but as a hunter wood always scares me that it'll get scratched up and ruin the finish. Can always repaint mine if necessary lol

That shawty sure looks great! Looks good with the Hugget too. I understand the shorty .22 is pretty quiet box stock. Has anyone tried a Hugget Belita on it?

The other question I have is - has anyone weighed just the stock? Do you think it is possible to get a little weight loss from further skeletonizing (verb?) the rear and front areas of the stock, which appears to have plenty 'o' material for strength?

"Eddy1840"Do you know if the veteran.22 standard is available in black stock..
Checkout talon tunes. Looks like he might have them in stock.

Gazoo, it look great and glad to hear it performs well. Yeah the fat boys were really good for awhile but now Donny came out with some new ones that are much quieter like my sumo and now has 3 others for .30 cal. I'm choosing to keep the Shorty stock with no extra LDC as it's not necessary and then can still fit in my backpack.
