While we wait for more to take the challenge, I’ll post another 4x5 challenge. I ran out of washed slugs and was also getting yelled at to go to bed. I had to fix three leaks on my fall squirrel hunting Impact. So I cleaned the barrel while I was at it. I’m posting this because it’s interesting to see what a clean barrel does at 100 yards. I dialed for 100 and when the gun finally came in, I only had to make a couple clicks adjustment after working on and cleaning the gun. It’s a M3 .25 shooting 30gr slugs 930fps. Barrel is a stainless LW and I think my finished length is right around 500mm. Scope is an Athlon Heras and I shot on max mag of 20x. The guns mainly used for 80 yards and in but when I built it, I got it to stay under an inch at 100. The gun will go slug on slug at 75 yards. The tune is not aggressive. Second reg is 135b. I can dumb it down with the wheel and shoot pellets also if need be.
I never started with a clean dry barrel at 100 but I had a fresh target up because I was going to shoot my P15 again so I figured what the heck and prayed I wouldn’t blow the light out on my target with my first few shots. Gun took 13 shots to season and that’s about what it always is. It’s just way more off at 100 than when I usually season it at 30. The last two groups I just shot a hole in the target then shot at it.
