Got air again. I like the new gauges.

Brand new for 2020. New 1st & 2nd stg gauges on W31 Mariner. Nice.

I had an extra blue gauge. Alkin has nice DIN300 & CGA 346/347 adapter (Old Scott valves.)

I must say 🙏 Thank You 🙏 to Alkin!

I absolutely love this thing, and the universal fill whip

Do the new ones still knock on start-up?

Not only do Alkins have that 2 second "paint can ball rattle" sound on startup, but so do Bauers. It's explained in the Bauer owners manual. Nothing at all to be concerned about. My Bauer did it for a good 10 seconds, the Alkin does it for less than 2 seconds. It's not indicative of a defect. The brief rattling sound is caused by the free floating high pressure piston that stops as soon as a small amount of pressure builds in the cylinder. It's how they're designed and the sound lasts a very short time..

Correct sir, it bothers me not one bit. I only posted the info in the interest of full disclosure since the question was asked.

My statement on the length of duration may have been in error, and it may very well be 2 seconds, but still very brief.

I was fully informed of the 'clatter' before my purchase, told why it happened, and that it was a complete non issue as concerns the function or longevity of the unit.

Hello Sir,
I view it as a very good legitimate question.

Due to my infrequent use, I'll be removing the black safety cover to prime my compressor before any use. As per the instructions it's a good idea to give the fan a few turns to ensure there's no lock up.

This, in my head, should provide the resistance on the mechanism needed for a clatter free start up😃
