Gopher In the Vinca plants

Was out early again, on the porch enjoying the morning and my first cup of coffee. I noticed a disturbance in the Vinca ground cover in my wife's dry creek landscape. The tell tale shaking of the vine and leaves gives the gopher activity away, I've been here before, I know what to do.

I slip away in to the house, retrieve my trusty Gopher Gun and rangefinder. A few more steps and I am in position, range the target @ 8 yards, control my excitement, check the dope sheet in my scope cap, line up the crosshair on the target and squeeze the trigger.

Man...what a commotion, our wild bird feeder is right above the vinca plants, I scared the poor little guys half to death, fluttering everywhere. I will be forgiven though, I'll double fill the feeder with dove and quail mix and black oil sunflower seeds in a few minutes. The Gamo Urban is not very loud, but it is pretty quiet around here in the early morning.

One less gopher, but, there is evidence of more scattered around the yard. I may spend a little more time on pesting this morning before I get to my chores. Looks like I could insert a clock key in the hole in his back and just wind that bad boy back into action!!!

Have a good Holiday, remember our fallen patriots with well deserved Honor

Thanks for all of the comments, this gopher hunting is keeping this old guy busy. I will be laying low for a few days, wife needs dental surgery down in the city, 2 hour trip one way. My Mom is having some legal problems which means another trip or two to the city. Anyway a heat wave has hit and I will be at it again soon as things get sorted out and cool down a little.

Good luck with your pesting, stay healthy and safe
