Gopher and the Pellet

Got this gopher working around some granite rocks this morning. 15 yard shot with the Gamo Urban with the .22 crosman 14.3 hollow points. Shot entered the back of the head but no exit wound??? Upon further examination I think the camera found the pellet inside it's mouth !!!

I did not do surgery to retrieve the pellet, felt the gopher probably would want to keep it as a souvenir to show his buddies in the "Gopher After life".

Look close and you can see it behind it's teeth !!!

Good luck with your pesting, stay healthy and safe

Mr. qball,

I have both moles and gophers...the moles have killed some of my immature fruit trees and never left any sign they were there. When the leaves looked bad and I was investigating and the tree trunk just pulled up and out of the ground, no roots at all !!! I had always thought you could see raised dirt trails from the moles, not always in my case.

The gophers usually poke up and push mounds of dirt in our flowers and lawn area. I try and wait them out, and the next push up, I try and reward them with a lead pill for their trouble.

I have used water from the garden hose, down the hole and once in a great while it may flush a gopher up spitting and sputtering. Usually the water never even surfaces and I just wasted my time and water.

Good luck with your pesting, stay healthy and safe
