Goodwill Spoon Spinner Challenge

In an effort to pay it forward. I challenge the group to go to Goodwill sore or other type charity of your liking and buy a spoon and make a Spoon Spinner for plinking. It's for a good cause and you will feel better about your self. Please share tips and pics of how you accomplished your good deed. It's not as easy as you might think.

Went to Goodwill this morning and bought a a couple of spoons for a couple of bucks. The big spoon is no spinner but hopefully I'll make it move at longer distances. Here are a couple of spinners I made and put up in the back yard.

I used a vice, pliers, hammer and had some Gutter Nails about 8" long with a sleeve in the garage.

Even though Goodwill does help some of the disadvantaged, it is still a for profit corporation. I would suggest supporting a local non- profit for spoon purchases. But that's just me.
 I support for profit corporations just about every single day of my life ? How can it be avoided? Why does goodwill fall into the evil category of for profit corps ?

My point was that if you want to support a non-profit such as the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and numerous other local, non profit entities, Goodwill is not one of them. Most people believe Goodwill is a non-profit entity, but is not. That is all. Spend where you like, I don't really care. Was for general informational purposes only.

For profit organizations generally don't ask for donations. When I donate money to help people I like to know that more than 10% goes to people in need and not to the paychecks of the people running the charity. Legally they only need to spend 3% of what they collect on the reason as to why they are collecting.
