My son-in-law had a good Saturday morning! Pope&Young 12 pt buck and mini-hogzilla. Glad he wore his mask. Haha! Eye-candy critters for sure.

@plinker Congrats to the son inlaw! What State was that in to have big 12 pointers and wild hogs taken on the same day, and probably on the same stand? ...shoots large 12 point buck, sees it go down close, leaves it lay for an hour or so for hog bait, shoots mini-hogzilla coming to eat, gets a nice photo op with the bow.

The hog around 250+ lbs and buck shy of 200. He had a great morning. He has one upped me now. I may have to come out of retirement

It is unusual to get a perfect shape and even number. There are a lot of 9’s and 11’s. It’s definitely a good looking trophy. I’ve been told our region was restocked with whitetails from Wisconsin back in the 50’s and 60’s. Calcium carbonate helps bulk up the racks, but genetics play a big role. Of course letting young bucks pass helps as well.
