Good time to stock up on ammo!

We've seen availability of pellets stall out to almost nothing. Powder burner ammo is, once again, almost impossible to find or being sold at ridiculous markup prices. We've also seen the prices of airguns on the rise. I think that much of the rise in prices can be attributed to the rising costs of shipping. Gas is going up too. Let's face it, prices are going up all over on all sorts of things.

I feel as though we are going to see a bump in the price of airgun ammunition as well. I could be wrong, and I truly hope that I am! But, I'm not waiting to find out. Below is my stock pile, as of today. Instead of having a little bit of everything, I've refined my stock to be heavy on the pellets I use the most, enjoy the most, and compete with. Lately, I've focused my collection on .22 caliber so, you'll notice a big difference in my .22 stock vs. my .25 stock. I've got over 33,500 in .22 and over 10,500 in .25. I have more, not seen in this pic. But this is the bulk of it.

As I write this and look at the picture, I can't help but think, "I need more!" That means, I'm probably going to end up ordering more tomorrow. I have the mindset of, "Would you rather have and not need, or need and not have?" This mindset usually costs me quite a bit of money. But, I rarely find myself in need of certain things when they are hard to find (such as, toilet paper???).

Hint... Hint... A little birdy told me that Airguns of Arizona just got a huge load of pellets in!

If you find yourself wanting redesigns and the place you're ordering from is all out, consider the Rangemaster Kings. Same thing, different label. On the labels, one states they're 25.39gr and the other states they're 25.38gr.

Same thing goes for MKII's. Consider the Rangemaster Emperor's.

I still have more testing to do on these alternatives. So far, I can't see a noticeable difference in performance.

In case you're wondering, those huge pellets are 33.62mm, for the .22 replica, and 49.52mm, for the .25 replica!

Happy Shooting!

Honestly a few months into this hobby and trying to keep pellets on hand i realized I had to start casting. .25 pellets and slugs are not cheap. Casting has its own drawbacks but somehow I feel like casting is part of the complete picture and being hooked to commercial pellets is not an option. I don't mean to say anything negative about your collection that looks awesome and I understand that desire to really stock up. I achieved that through casting but man do I understand the need to have an unlimited supply.

taking big bore to a whole new level here!

Because of many people buying unreasonable amounts of pellets they are harder to get and also prices are going up.Because there is more demand than manufacturers can produce. Also the quallity goes down. How long will this new stock of pellets last if everyone would be buying 50 or more tins?

Nothing against you i like your videos btw but this is my opinion on hoarding pellets.

Love the DIY attitude! Perhaps I'll look into it at some point in the future.

Marko, this isn't even close to hoarding pellets. What you see there is a small pile. Hoarding is the persistent difficulty discarding or parting with possessions. I talk to both competitive and non-competitive shooters that go through 50K rounds on an annual basis. I'll go through half of what you see there by the time the first major competition rolls around. Also, pellets oxidize over time. Hoarding them is not a good idea. Furthermore, you can't say how many orders it took me to build up what you see there. I also shoot powder burners and am subjected to the purchase limitations that retail stores have put in place. While I do wish I could by more, I'm happy that I have the ability to buy some at all and agree with the system they have put in place. If I was actually hoarding pellets, I wouldn't share info about who has them in stock either. It's incredibly rare for me to buy the "last one" of anything, ever. I'd rather buy less so someone else has an opportunity. Airguns continue to grow in popularity as firearms become harder, and more expensive, to shoot. So, regardless of people buying 50 or more tins, these retail stock piles won't last very long due to the high number of shooters there are today.

This post is about informing other shooters that pellets are in stock. In case, like me, they've been having a hard time finding the particular kind their rifles shoot best and that they find the most success with.

very nicely put my friend

I also bought 50 tins within the last month

should last me for a year or more perhaps less

but since the importer to Canada just got them in and did not get his full order get them while you can

easier to have them and not need them THIS WEEK than to run out and wait for 6 months until new stock arrives

am over 65 so my shooting days are numbered, don’t want to be in a situation when the pellet supply is dry,

then next spring new pellets arrive and I am too ill or frail to,shoot,

so for a thousand bucks get my supply of pellets,

the USA importer space has been quite bare as I understand it so only a foolish man would wait to buy his annual supply

and many of my so called shooting buddies don’t buy primers when the big box store gets them in before Xmas and then want

to buy a thousand in the spring when they are all sold out and bitch that the price is up when delivered to them at a registered match

Ordered 13 tins today with the "St. Paddy's day sale" at PA. Probably a total of 60 to 75 tins ordered in the last 6 months. I have accumulated way more than I currently need but all were purchased because certain (or sometimes several) guns like them and I am now retired so should be shooting more. The oxidation issue is a concern but I'm hoping quite a few years is required to see such.
