First an apology if I ruffle any members feelings. I drop in occasionally to look at classified adds and happened on a thread that was appropriately locked by moderator Michael for bashing and verbal attacks. It just amazes me when a persons bad behavior seems to be emboldened because they can assume a new screen name whenever they leave one forum for another. I will not go beyond stating that being a moderator on any forum is a thankless unpaid job that is made more difficult by members that think that cyber bullying ok because the offender is hiding behind a screen name and a keyboard. As a moderator on another air gun forum it never ceases to amaze me that some adults see nothing wrong with ignoring the rules due to the only real consequence for their bad behavior is a possibility of being banned from the forum.
I have been an avid shooter my entire life and the current crop of adult air guns have continued to fuel my passion for shooting. Whenever I come on line and see a post flagged for a rules infraction I dread the eventual fall out that occurs. The worst thing I have to deal with is making a recommendation to the forum administrators that a member be banned from the forum for repeated rules infractions. The reason I do not enjoy that particular action is that the recommendation causes me to second guess myself. Am I doing the right thing or allowing my strong dislike of bullies color my recommendation.
My final observation is that anybody that feels that the rules are for others and that their bad behavior is acceptable have no right to ruin the forums that they participate in for other members that are on line for sharing with others their passion for whatever that passion might be
