Living here in the PNW we deal with a bit of humidity and I keep my Vevor out in the garage (50°) Ran it today and it runs cool and was thinking about a pre h2o filter. Not knowing much about this stuff would this be a good idea?

a pre water filter? like before it goes into the compressor? i mean the best way to get water out ahead of time is temperature, so lower temp air holds onto less water, after the first/second stage the air heats up and can hold onto more, which the cooling line runs help with, and then usually into a separator and/or a desiccant / carbon filter after that before going into your tank/gun, how were you planning on making a pre-h2o filter, with desiccant? that might work u just want a long pathway with it in there so the same air travels passed as much desiccant as possible, so maybe a long / thin pathway filled with desiccant. Any time you are getting contaminants out of the air, its always a good thing, just be sure that nothing other than air travels into the compressor XD

ahh gotcha, molecular sieve, cant hurt right? as long as no dust/powder comes through which it looks like it wont because of the filter at the end, worth a shot

The consensus is that filtering UN pressurized air is not effective and not worth the effort or cost. You are better off making sure the high pressure filter is good.
