Couple of days ago I spent the morning sitting on my porch and shooting mongoose that run along a trail on my property. Got three. My best is nine in one morning, two body and seven head shots.

Good shooting, nasty little buggers. We have them running all over here, I take them out and will be good for a couple of months, then they start to appear again. Them most I shot is 23 in 1 day, I use canned tuna for bait.

They are pests and invasive species that do more harm than good.

Mongooses eat my eggs and chicks. Only a few hens, but they all have names. Hard to loose even one chick.

The eat gigantic amounts of ticks per year. I'm leavin' 'em alone. Way better service than any human could provide.

@peep nice shooting and yes, if they are negatively hurting you and your kin take them out.
Also, an ex-special Vietnam era special forces body of mine told me at least once he at every creature he ever shot, including prairie dogs, badgers, rats, etc, except for one; they coyote. My buddy said that coyotes will eat ANYTHING, and anything is where he draws the line. He would hunt them and use their pelts, but not the rest, it was recycled back to nature which was probably another coyote.

No wonder their ability to survive and increase is so phenomenal.
