Since it was Miami I would assume Cuban Coffee, which I believe is strong espresso with sugar. But maybe there is a Portuguese version as well.

Heh, guilty as charged although my quality of life increased in absence of coffee while supplementing my caffeine addiction with green tea.
I used to drink coffee all day (terrible at moderating), but wasn't enjoying the stomach acidity that came with it and my stomach/body just stopped agreeing with coffee after long term heavy use. I didn't like the effects it was having on my personality either, but that is me, certainly doesn't apply to anyone/everyone. My taste buds are the only thing that miss it.
I used to even have a cup after dinner! I quit smoking and coffee at the same time, was a rough few weeks but my cravings are gone. For me it was nice to break those chains of dependency. I am less anxious and don't succumb to any caffeine 'crashes' or the need for another cup to avoid them!

The old tin stove top percolator ..
Worked as good on campfire hot coals as it did on the stove burner..
They also came in glass

Every coffee machine here i know of had a glass pot.
In Danish we say kaffekande, which translate to coffee pitcher, but those was generally ceramic here or in some cases even ceramic coated steel like the famous " madam blue "
later came insulated coffee pitchers of course, but they was pretty boring.
There was also ornate ones in silver, thats then you have made it and are a coffee junkie.
Here seen with milk pitcher and sugar "bowl"
Of course if you go full Danish design, you cant get around the stelton brand.

I agree, the best ever, and have two of them, just in case. Amazon has them, just search for "percolator coffee pots". Make sure that it has glass though, some of the cheap ones use plastic.

yep coffee... the leaded type... dilates blood vessels so your brain and eyes will work better.So other day I joked in my clown thread the poor grouping was due to I ran out of my coffee and had to grab a small cheap "get by" coffee and it was.
Lucky my sis was able to get my brand and grind and seems to have me back on track with a tasty smooth cup for morning coffee sipping shots..
Same everything as the clown shots but a decent cup of joe. I guess it shows it's the caffeine I can't do without .

40+ years ago my wife and I used the old 70’s standard Poly Perk. It made rxcellent coffee.

And, I’ve read, don’t pour it as soon as it’s done, let it “rest for 10-15 minutes to brew.

Some of that convenient store coffee sits for hours and it don't help it at all..
Then I guess it's better served with them Ferris wheel cooker shriveled up hotdogs ? Helps wash em down..
Water in a percolator I guess makes steam that collects at top and trickels down in to filter part .. so at steam temp makes good brews

Ya, electric percolator I could run extension cord to the shooting bench and have pretty handy morning coffee shots ..hmmmm...

I like coffee (iced) in the afternoon.....when I first wake up I'm wide eyed and bushy-tailed so no cup of joe needed then...my wife thinks/knows I'm abby-normal...

Back when I had time on the weekends I even used to roast green coffee beans in a Dutch oven on the burner of the grill.
That takes about 45 min to an hour depending on the beans and is a smoky process but yields the best damn cup of Joe you’ll ever have straight out of the roaster. Back then I went with a French press and have never looked back. These days my French press is a double walled stainless steel so I can take it hunting/outdoors.
Some gas stations have fresh ground coffee machines and that’s usually a decent cup in a pinch.

Anybody else get that feeling when you go to sip your cup of coffee and realize it's empty, it's two steps above rage with a hint of sadness...
For me there's a perfect balance between coffee and airgun accuracy. Too much coffee and gets the heat rate up, too little and focus diminishes. Have one cup then sip on a second (and/or third) while taking your shots seems just right. Grab a red bull or monster and forget about it, might as well use a full auto bb gun at forty yards, Lol.
