Gonna "Boss" my Royale 500

Well after liking the Boss i put together so much, ordered the parts to turn my R500 into a Boss as well. Parts at FXUsa are very reasonable and im so glad they do it the way they do.

Gonna keep the Royale trigger on it but change the block and other small parts to make the change.

Another Boss that i can set up to be .22 or .25. I have 2 barrels of each caliber, it has more power potential than Royale. About 10fpe more in .22 and 15fpe more in .25 than what a Royale can make with a 600mm. Its only 220$ in parts to do it, worth it to me.

We cant get moderators here so a 700mm barrel isnt so obscene, its like a 600mm with a moderator. Ill probably get a 700mm .30 barrel down the road and see if i can break 100fpe with that. It should.

Parts are delivered, i'll do the swap tonight and take pics for anyone interested.

Also got a few of the steel hammer adjusters to double up to lock the settings in place.

If you ever get a 700mm .30 keep us inform about the modification and the gain over the 600mm .30 of the boss.

Easy peasy, took about 20 minutes to strip the Royale and put the guts into the Boss receiver. Valve pin and spring/holder assembly is all the same between the SHP setup on the Royale and the Boss but the valve seat is larger as is the porting. 

Yeah If I get a .30 barrel it will be the 700mm, so far I've gotten 78fpe with the .25 STX. I have no reason to think it wouldn't make 100 with 4 more inches of barrel and a bigger caliber. I just LOVE the platform. (as you can probably tell)

I probably should have just got a Boss myself. I have a 30 Synthetic Crown that shoots light out but I never adjust anything. It shoots so good the way I got it I'm afraid to mess with it!

Yeah the Huma helps because it can both work well at a higher working pressure and its smaller on the plenum side (makes for bigger plenum), I've shot it at the range in the high 60sFPE with King heavies and it did well. 1-1.5 inch groups at 100m using the A liner it seems to like more.

I get over 70 with EunJin 43.2's, and got 78 with a Eunjin with a .177 jb welded onto the tip to make a total of just over 50gr, that power will come in handy once I get a slug setup for the Boss. Either a slug liner or get an unchoked LW blank down the road and make it play nice with the Boss. (in .25)

But also want to tinker with a 700mm .30 down the road as well. All in good time.

Same gun sends the 24gr Drigs over 1000fps (in .22) without breaking a sweat.
