I had this scope on a gun I don't shoot that often and thought "what the heck, let's put it on my new Taipan", so I did. We'll see how it works out today as the sun is shining, the wind isn't blowing and the gophers are out! Updates coming soon!
Are you going to ride that fine-looking bike out to the range?
And what scope is that?
I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a NightForce NX8 1-8x24 FFP for my soon-to-be had EDgun Lelya .177 cal. I really desire the Vortex Razor Gen 111 1-10X24, however, no vendor has it in stock.
The counter began the morning at 498, which is the number of gophers that have succumbed to the AA S510 and Taipan in the Month of May-June, thus far. As You can see, it was a successful morning. I had to get out early as the winds have now picked up to over 15mph and will be gusting above 25 before the day is over. Pretty typical for this time of year in Central Montana.
Toomanygunz,it's a Leica 3.5-14. Amazing glass. The SWFA is good but can't hold a candle to the Leica! Of course the Leica is 4+ times the price too! As for riding the bikes to the range, no, I live in the country and the range is right out my door. But, they do get ridin. The orange Buell took me to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska and back a couple of years ago. ( :
Here's my gopher hunting rig. I can shoot right out the front and sides. It's extremely maneuverable. As you may have guessed by now, I love shooting gophers with these airguns! It's very addictive.......
Glad its treating you real good! Great shooting my friend! So your gophers are the same thing we have here we just call them sage rats. Quite a number you've killed the last 2 months! I think I'm up to around 100 now. Take my .22 Veteran and .22lr Tikka T1X along everyday changing irrigation. Get anywhere from 2-10 a day. Got 40 in about 1/2 hour when they first popped there head out this year.
My neighbor mowing his lawn and looking for gophers. Here in Montana you can mow your lawn with a rifle in one had and no one thinks anything of it! I love this place.
