Go forth and spread the good word

Powder burner guys don't have a clue, and I believe this is good. Many are jumping on soap boxes to spread the word how accurate and powerful pcp's can be. In states like TX or NC no problem in others a permit is needed to purchase ammo in some cases even BB's ? Moderators in NJ ? Try buying black powder in NY ? It's a potential for problems in blue states. STFU and enjoy what you got.

In NY, King Cuomo made a lot of us powder burner guns 'felons' over night..
His illegal / unconstitutional SAFE-act / SAFE-act-2 is pretty much banning everything..
NYers have tried to get him out and get Larry Sharp in, but, Dems and Reps ruined that..
Now, we're all screwed, and with PCP rifles gaining more publicity, I have a feeling they're next.. *sigh*

More states are following, so, imo, it's just a matter of time... Hopefully I'm wrong.

L.Leon,
You nailed it.. 'SAFE for criminals', and that's about it..
I really can't talk about my powder burners or their accessories - as they were all lost to the waters in a tragic boating accident..
Same here too.. I got sick and tired of having to look over my shoulder all the time [even though 'most' of our LEOs don't enforce the SAFE-act]
PCPs are just as fun - for me - as I shoot target 95% of the time anyways.

Bicycles - I was a bicycle shop manager for around 10 years..
I don't think they'll ban those.. But they will try to enforce protective gear, helmets, reflectors, flashers, etc.
and don't even think about riding them on sidewalks, and in certain public places... hahaha

Sadly, the Dems And the Reps in NYS 'let it happen'.
Larry Sharpe would have been an Amazing governor, and we supported him like crazy!
Super nice guy, fantastic ideas, etc. But, people voted for their 'parties' instead of for him.

Here we are with the man the myth the legend! 🤘🙂🤘

PS: Sorry if my ugly mug shatters your screen. hahaha
I'm the guy in the back that's built like a teenage girl. 🤣

OK.... Seems this thread kinda got a little off track, at least from my original intentions. I really never meant this to be a political post or anything the like, not that I disagree with the sentiments being expressed. I'm all for freedom of thought and speech, but let's keep it civil, even if we continue discussing politics and the state of affairs in NY.

As a 49 Y/O boy that likes to play with pellet toy guns, I am pretty passionate about my hobby and was thrilled to share with someone whom obviously was very curious and interested in modern Adult Airguns. He owned a Gamo breakbarrel an routinely shot the squirrels in his yard. His accuracy was 25%, or bullseye of one every four shots.

I personally don't think we should ever be so hush hush about our sport in fear of whom may find out what the capabilities of our airguns are. Freedom means being free to even talk about it without fear, no?

As for what is happening in your very repressed States, perhaps concrete action and sacrifice may be in order. Not just venting on an Airgun forum. Get involved, get out there, speak your minds in public - A LOT...... Go Forth and Spread the Good Word.

I get the funny looks all the time when I bring up airguns and picking off pigeons a good distance. Oh and then when I bring up that here in AZ you can hunt deer and even black bear with an airgun. Oh the looks I get. Another reaction I get all the time is "airsoft". I have to fill them in and funny enough after all the time I spend detailing out the difference they still reply with "airsoft" To be honest I am just fine with it. Let them continue thinking airsoft.

Other times people think... the off the shelf big box store bb/pellet guns. Heh, often times its bb gun. Again I will go over what I know about pcp airguns and what I have learned over the whole 8 years I have been into it. Still, many cannot seem to wrap there heads around it. Now when it comes to the powder burner crowd which I am also part of I would think that most would be a bit more understanding. From my experience not so much. I still get similar reactions. Or I get the whole why would I pay so much for a bb gun (yes, again. bb gun) when I can get two, three or even four "real" guns. I do go over many of the reasons but most of the time they fall on def ears. Even if you tell them you can get a nice shooter in the $500 range. Again I am fine with this.

I am fine with all of this though and at the same time happy when I do enlighten someone who in turn goes out searching for a new airgun, knowing that there are seemingly endless options to choose from.

I have found out, on this very forum, if you speak your mind you will get repressed. They are happy with free speech as long as the speech is what they want to hear.

And I doubt this thread, or even this post will last long.....it will be locked very soon....with a lets get back to airguns shall we.

Since this thread got hijacked. Just an FYI: Free speech is a guarantee your speech won't be repressed by the Federal or State government. Twitter, Facebook, a forum, or any other private business does not guarantee you free speech. People seem to confuse this "right" as absolute.

To the OP: I am glad you were able to open someone's eyes to air guns. The only people I get to discuss it with, other than on here, is my PB friends. Luckily one is a reloader who generally shoots sub 1 inch 5 shot groups at 800 yards and is happy to discuss ballistics with me. Keep up the conversions ;)

What an awesome opportunity to share our great sport with yet another PdrBrnr that came to a shooting range at just the right time!

Darwin showed up at the shooting range in Pierre, SD just as I was wrapping up some 100 yards shooting and asked: “What are you shooting there?”

Well, needless to say, I introduced him to Airguns, let him shoot the KgCMC, and he was hooked & was asking for more information!

As the "Main Stream Media" hypes/indoctrinate all it's willing viewers and listeners on the evils on guns the paranoia is spreading like some new strain of a disease.

The Red states are slowing turning Blue from the slow starvation of air/the truth that any fire arm is harmless until it's used for good or bad deeds.

Cars and fire arms are perfect examples. Both can be used for good and bad. Start that engine and you are a willing participant in Global Warming/Climate Change if you so choose to believe in that. You are doing harm on a grand scale......destroying the planet and all it's living organisms. So they say.

Buy a gun and you automatically become a Grim Reaper if you so choose to believe in that. Even if you don't use it you have been labeled as a Grim Reaper.....guilty by association.

But at least I'm not destroying the planet and all it's living organisms by owning a fire arm.......yet. Until the MSM/GP says so tomorrow :)

Hey Christian, that’s great that you shared what you love with that guy at Cabelas. I share this with a lot of people that I come into contact with if the conversation goes that way. All of my coworkers know that I love shooting air at my house. One co-worker bought a Marauder and another bought a QB78and a couple pistols, a 1911 Tangfoglio? (Sp) and a 1377. Another acquaintance bought a QB78 also.

All of that to say say that some will be interested, others won’t. Many won’t. Pellet guns are viewed as toys here (United States) for the uninitiated and uninformed. I think that view keeps many from experiencing air power. It’s gets dismissed as for kids and not to be taken seriously. What I have found is that shooters are open to air power vs. just gun enthusiasts.
