Glowing pellets for night hunting.

Any one try painting a pellet inside the skirt with glow in the dark nail polish. Then hit it with a black light. Before taking a shot night hunting. Could make for a cool night hunting video. You may be able to see the pellets flight path to the critter.

My guess is the black light muzzle attachments for air-soft would not work with the muzzle velocities of pcp air rifles. Any one tried it?

Short answer. I tried it. Didn't work. Didn't try recording it for night hunting, but getting the pellet visible to the naked eye in real time was not happening.

If you just use a bright spot light on target from behind & above you, shown on target, it works.

You can track with your eye from PCP, SSP, sled springer or soft tuned springer.

CPHP’s have more antimony & shine more, penetrating deeper also.

GTO alloys are absolutely excellent for it. 
I can track 16.54 grain GTO .25’s out to 50 yards from Sumatra & Japanese Bushnell

I’ve also tried with neon green and neon pink glow in the dark.It was no difference at night with ATN XSIGHT than you already see.

That's a really cool idea. I'm surprised none of the manufacturers don't offer a tracer pellet or bb. I bet It can work with an alloy pellet.



It would be really fun to shoot them out of one of the full auto guns.

Don’t expect this but like I said, yes the GTO alloys shine best back lit. AND, those things must have a bh level 2-3x’s of lead pellets.

I was thinking adapting a tracer unit for air-soft to the end of a pellet gun. Then loading pellets with glow in the dark nail polish inside the skirt. Not sure if it would work pcp projectiles are traveling a bit faster than airsoft balls. May not be enough exposure time inside the unit.
