Huben GK1 - last magazine shot

Hi,
I am shooting the GK1 .25 at +~ 55FPE. So I can shoot a full magazine at this power.

So you get carried away shooting … till your mag is empty. Shooting a blank with the GK1 makes a MASSIVE noice and a “75bar” air dump.

Anyone a practical approach to avoid shooting an empty mag?
I am an engineer, i can count to 17 … but I rather be focussed on target, style, surroundings,… than keeping track of the shot count.
 
I just keep track by looking at the left side of the mag. You can see the last few pellets making their way towards the breech.
When I can only see one half of a pellet visable before the next shot, I know I have three shots left.
Mine is .22, so not sure if the .25 would be the same, or just two shots left.

It is just 2 in .25 … but too often i forget to look at it :/ Thanks dor the suggestion.

In the 2 years I’ve owned my gk1 never has it took a dump from a dry fire. Just tune it down and it won’t dump air.

Try experimenting with different spring lengths and thickness.A longer striker spring may prevent the air dump.

Yes I know lol. I have a little understanding how this system works. Here’s a thread I started 5 years ago on the K1:

Understanding the hammerless system

Have a look at it. Perhaps you will gain a better understanding of the hammerless system and the role of the striker spring in conjunction with the opening valve/ closing valve.

*** It is NOT a balanced valve. A balanced valve uses a HAMMER. This is hammerless… remember. There are two valves. One of them is a blow open valve and the other is, a never before seen valve, used to close the blow open valve.
