Given a crossman...

I was given a crossman powermatic 500 from a neighbor who found it in their attic. As far as they know it's unfired and I'm wondering if I should keep it that way or try it out. I will probably sell it, I have pellet guns and don't really need or want a BB rifle that uses co2. Any thoughts on this? I don't know much about them, are they fairly common?

I do a fair bit of looking at used stuff on various classifieds-from what I see they aren't common but there doesn't seem to be a huge demand for them like the 760s seem to have. I had one as a teenager-it shot hard for a bb gun and had a looooong creepy trigger. I got used to it and could hit stuff out to 25 yards or so with the rather crappy open sights. I loaned it to my older brother and it came back broken. I think I've seen one on this site-https://www.bakerairguns.com/shop/airguns/used-airguns/ 
Go ahead and try it if you're curious-just remember to get some pellgun oil and put a couple drops on the tip of the Co2 cartridge-this will help keep the seals soft. You'll probably get more for it if you know the seals are good when you go to sell it.
