Bob, that's so funny. Today the boys and I went shooting at the river and the farthest clear cut target we could range and use to see our hits was at 181 yards. Exactly the yardage your picture shows. How crazy is that?

The rock I was shooting was about the size of a baseball, right on the river's edge sitting right below a steep, loamy shoreline where I could see my misses. If I shot low, I hit the river, high, right or left I could see the loamy soil explode. After I shot a few shots, I realized that my dope on the turret tape was off past 150 yards. I had validated all of the ranges out to 150 yards but not beyond because I hadn't shot that far in a while. What surprised me was that the drop at the yardages between 150 and 180 yards wasn't anywhere nearly as much as I had calculated. I actually used fewer clicks on my turret! And, most importantly, I had the luxury of multiple shots at my target, I didn't have to worry about the rock flying away!

My slug liner still hasn't arrived for the 700mm Impact, so I was using the 33.95 MKII's at 925-930fps. I had plenty of hits once I got the gun dialed and figured the correct dope. Plenty of misses too! It was a ton of fun. I haven't had a chance to get out in the National Forest where I can shoot past 150 yards lately. It got me all excited again, hopefully my slug liner will get here soon so I can continue my slug testing and do more long distance shooting. Have a good one my friend!
