Gear Needed For PCP Fill By Hand Pump

I am about to buy my first PCP rifle on line and I am confused about the items I will need to use a hand pump.

I want to get an Air Arms T200 and a hand pump. The info I find on line indicates I can use an Air Venturi Mk4 pump for this rifle. I cannot figure out the adapter(s) I need or if I will need anything else.

The chart on Pyramid Air indicates I should get an Air Venturi Female DIN Adapter 1/8" Male BSPP stainless steel, but the on line chat info said to get a Male quick disconnect adapter. I am not sure if I need both, or just one, and whether I need anything else.

I would like to order this weekend but their sales reps are not available until Monday business hours. Anyone know what I need here.

From pictures on the internet, the t200 has male thread at the fill port of the air tube so you definitely need an adaptor with female DIN thread. I have got one for my FWB 800 , the adaptor will fit the connector ( 1/8 BSPP female thread with a conical mating face ) of the hose that came with the Hill Mk3 pump. I believe the same type of connector is used on Mk4 ( Hill makes the pump for AV )

Just a heads up. I'm new to the PCP weapons also.

The Mk4 pump works well. Not nearly as bad/difficult as I thought it was going to be to fill my Lelya with the hand pump.

Make sure the fittings are tight, use the silicone grease to help lube the threads to help with that. Keep everything clean as you assembly the fittings and as you insert the probe into the guns port.

Some helpful hints. Older AA rifles used a weird connector instead of a probe or a quick disconnect. This rifle may need the same though you’ll see that MOST air guns use probes, which I dislike as I wish all would standardize into Crosman/RAW/etc. simple quick disconnect.

When pumping I suggest doing so in a room with an air conditioner or dehumidifier running. Not for you though it will be more comfortable. I say so for your air guns. You do not need E-quality breathing air but you don’t want moisture build up sitting in your rifles reservoir. I’ve had pumped some rifles for 10 years & no rust inside. I didn’t at first & I noticed first 2-3 shots a blast of mist along with the pellets. I started in a room with 30% moisture or less & problem seemed to stop.

A Hill pump is as good as hand pumping gets. I’d personally buy the $199.00 Hill at PA as I see no need for that side filter for my usage. For around the same price I’m told The Yong Heng runs much better/faster than the original Shoebox I owned. I’m contemplating trying a Yong Heng until I buy my Alkin Mariner 1E from Doug Noble. I’m gonna need it for my .257 build & I may do a .457 if Whitetail & airguns in my State ever go together but for now it’s small game & varmints.

Good luck & just call the tech department when ordering on Monday to be sure of what you need.
