.35 is the minimum required by Michigan DNR.
No it is not. .30 caliber can be used to hunt small game in Michigan. Many other states allow for deer hunting with .30 caliber air rifle. You see, it has NEVER been about whether a .30 caliber could kill a deer. No, instead it's about corrupt politicians and gun control freaks that make such absurd claims about the .30 caliber and other guns, in the face of objectionable evidence proving the claims false. Michigan is a corrupt State both politically and Judicially. They allow their citizens to believe that deer in Michigan are [I guess] tougher in Michigan than in Texas where it is legal to hunt deer with a .30. The whole controversy about the .30 cal is driven by Political agenda and ignorance. It is obvious, as I have hunted deer, myself, with a 30 cal, that the rifle works for deer.

Moreover, a .30 cal will work for Michigan Deer as well. So long as you don't run to your government oppressors and tell on yourself, you should be fine. I mean, what's more important, your right to have guns to use to defend and hunt for your family, or listening to a government agents, that killed Epstein in prison, so that the child molester government agents, who were involved wouldn't be snitched out to the general population. You can Trust YOUR government if you want to... as for me and my family, we will follow our God given rights and allow no little corrupt pencil neck nerd, located in State or Federal office, tell us when to feed our family and what tools we can use.

@jpott - Slow your rant down, this is an airgun forum, not a soapbox.

Here are the official Michigan DNR rules specifically governing pneumatic air rifles.

Can I use a pneumatic gun to hunt deer?
Yes. You can use a pneumatic gun to hunt deer if it meets the firearm requirements for the season, species hunted and zone you are hunting in.

What are the firearm restrictions I must follow when hunting deer during a firearm deer season in the limited firearms deer zone?
If you are deer hunting during a firearm deer season in the limited firearms deer zone, you must abide by the following firearm restrictions or use a crossbow or a bow. Legal firearms are as follows:

A shotgun with a smooth or rifled barrel of any gauge.
A muzzleloading rifle or black powder handgun loaded with black powder or a commercially manufactured black powder substitute.
A conventional (smokeless powder) handgun .35-caliber or larger and loaded with straight-walled cartridges. It may be single- or multiple-shot but cannot exceed a maximum capacity of nine rounds in the barrel and magazine combined.
A .35-caliber or larger rifle loaded with straight-walled cartridges with a minimum case length of 1.16 inches and a maximum case length of 1.80 inches. Examples include, but are not limited to, .350 legend, .360 Buckhammer and .450 Bushmaster.
A .35-caliber or larger air rifle or pistol charged only from an external, high-compression power source.

Not a rant. Information. Sir, I am a paralegal. I can quote the Michigan Law if you would like. Please, also, consider the Executive Order of Rick Snyder, that mandated all air guns to be treated separate and distinct from Michigan firearm laws. There are no laws regarding using air rifles to hunt in Michigan accept for the restriction of hunting deer with no less than .35 caliber. I did explain that in detail. What you are reading on the internet is the soap box drama, brother.

Please make sure you read and apply this law correctly. It SPECIFICALLY, refers to deer with the .35 caliber pneumatic rifle. And, that is the only thing in that entire firearm law, that you, proudly, quote to justify your answer.

Gauntlet SL30 [No mods].

Does not meet minimum legal power requirements in Texas for deer. Blast away at all the pigs you want.
The poll is solely about the "effectiveness" of a .30 caliber air rifle regarding killing a deer. The question is not concerned with the legality of the action. Some states it's legal some states it's not. I am aware of Michigan law, and the .30 caliber can be used to hunt small game, however, not large game. Regardless, the object of the poll has nothing to do with legality. Please keep the responses on Topic.

With a heart shot or brain shot, yes. Lung shot will be a long trail with little to no blood and a questionable recovery. Minimum power levels are there for a reason.
