Did you see the AEA Zeus Tactical .72 caliber? Sick!
! Thanks for your reply!
Yeah and a great example of what I am talking about. Now that is a deer killer ! The G30 will absolutely kill a deer for sure. A vitals hit is likely to leave an incredibly poor blood trail at best leaving recovery extremely difficult. Head shots only on deer are a bit silly in my opinion

Definitely, understand where you are coming from. Head shots are my speciality. 😂 However, last year, I got a doe with a lung shot. 45 yards. Yeah, that AEA Zeus.72 caliber would work for warfare! 😂

Lots of airguns could kill a deer with a precise brain shot. Hogs have been killed by 177s. I wouldn't think a deer is harder to brain kill than a hog. But to be an effective hunting tool I think you need to be able to take a body shot too. You may need a follow up shot if your brain shot is off. You aren't going to get a nice stationary target for your second. You need to be able to poke a big enough hole through the vitals to drop the deer within a reasonable distance. I do not think a 30 caliber hole will do this.

Fpe is about what a 22LR powder burner is. Nobody but a poacher would brain shoot deer with a 22LR. Some states limit airguners to something like 200 or 250 fpe. That is still way low by PB standards but is more appropriate in my view. The rule of thumb for powder burners is 1000 fpe but that is more for much higher speed smaller diameter PB rounds. Our airguns are more like pistols with relatively big diameter projectiles going pretty slow.

800 FPS with 100

Then lots of air guns are effective killers. Thanks for your reply. 100 FPE is more than enough to kill a deer. 50 FPE will get the job done. Rimfire rifles produce Hydro shock, no comparison. If the objective is to harvest deer, you don't have to put a .50 cal dent in his body or head, to make a kill effective, correct? I have never had to fire a follow up shot. I make sure I am going to hit what I'm aiming at or I don't pull the trigger. However, you are correct, hitting vital organs is key, regardless of caliber.

I would say yes at the right ranges and of course shot placement. With a large animal like a hog or grizzly you better not miss lol
I don't know if I would be so brave to try a bear! 🤣 But, if that is all I had, the bear will be eating .30 rounds until he eats me or I'm eating him!🤣
