Gauntlet is it possible?

Hey guys it's probably just my guess, I just bought a guantlet in .22 sightted at 20 yards and at 50 yards it just have a drop of 1 3/8". I don't have a chrony, but the according to the chairgun app it's shooting the jsb 18 gr. At 870fps that's 30.2 fpe. Is it possible? 

I didn't do any modifications to it.

By the way at 50 yards it makes a hole thru a 1 1/4" thick piece of pine

You have two places that a projectile will "zero".. the pellet leaves the barrel, pointed up slightly from line of sight. Where line of flight and line of sight cross, we call "zero". The pellet climbs to apex then starts to fall until it meets line of sight again 



The close zero is secondary, the far zero is primary.

It’s rated at 900 but I’m not sure what grain pellet they used so yes 870 its possible with the chrono set about 1-3 feet in front of barrel.

Yep, that gun is more than capable of shooting high 8's to low 9's with that pellet.

If you've sighted it in at 20yds, the drop at 50yd. should be more like -1/2" with a velocity of 870fps.

If your drop is really -1 3/8", the velocity would be a lot less than 870fps. Something more like 780fps.

Could depend on your scope height. I zero the .22 and .25 Crickets at 20 shooting at 885 the far zero is 45-46 yards the scope height is 2.35" using med mounts and the same scope. So unless your really close to the bore stoti is probably right with your fps. Think several youtube vids put the 177 at better than 900 fps with the 8 grain pellets. The.22 was shown to be lower with the 18 grain pellets. They sure look like a lot of bang for the buck.

At 20 yards is zero, (haven't checked my far zero) and my point of impact at 50 is around 1 3/8"

As I said, by considering that I zeroed it at 20 yards and playing with the drop of the pellet at 50 yards in the chairgun app.
