Ok we had rabbits eating my wife's garden. I shot some then put chicken wire around the garden. The eating stoped for awhile now I am getting small nibbles on leaves with a few young plants being pulled up. I am not finding any critters. I know they come how can I find them

First you've got to figure out how they're getting in, obviously there is a breach somewhere. Is it possible that you've got a gopher? They'll dig underground.

Put up motion sensing cameras.

Or at least a remote motion sensing buzzer strategically pointed in that direction to alert you when something (OR someone) breached your perimeter.

Of course the buzzer part is INSIDE the house as to not to alert your SOON TO BE dead target.

I guess a trail type cam would work out. I think I have one somewhere. It must be a gopher / rat or such. I walk out there mornings night but have never seen anything since getting rid of rabbits. I have a light on my marauder pistol just wishing for a rodent.

How high is the chicken wire? I've had a "problem" where a couple rabbits had learned to hop a 24" hi chicken wire. Only a couple would do this, so it's sort of a learned behavior.

You will get alerts on your phone anywhere as long as your wifi can reach the garden. It will need a cheap micro SD card to record and you can even get a solar panel so you don't ever have to charge it and the battery on these things lasts forever. Mine has witnessed many squirrels' last meal.

You can also get a driveway alert from harbor freight, battery powered plenty of range, it will alert you of even a mouse in its detection range. I think it was around $16 iirc...

Could be sparrows- on our farm they've pretty much pecked a couple rows of cabbage to bits. They like cover so only the outer rows get chewed. Take a look in the early am if you can. They make beak shaped bites in the leaves. I am not making this up!

I can second that opinion. Sparrows will get after all my green leafy stuff, especially when they are young and most vulnerable. I have a screen house to keep them out.

The chicken wire is 36". It could be birds. I ask my wife about that and she didnt think it was. But it very well could be. I found my trail cam I need D batteries. I have also ordered one of the drive way motion detectors. I kinda hope its gophers or mice. I would enjoy shooting them. I will keep you posted.

If they’re rabbits and they’re eating, I’d think they may leave some droppings and/or a paw print in some moist top soil. There me may also be some fur on the wire somewhere if they squeezed beneath it. The rabbits that I’ve seen tend to burrow into the ground so it’s possible that they may also dig under your wire. Seen any holes or areas in the dirt around the bottom of wire that’s looks like it’s been scratched away? Do you have any photos that we can see?
