Might have something to do with the power level, and the harmonics associated.
Gamo hunter 440 is more of a mid power gun. Shorter stroke, less “spring”. Might be easier to master than the Cometa.
That Cometa, in my opinion, is a true magnum springer and capable of probably 50% more power than a Gamo hunter 440.
Cometa have done a great job putting together a quality magnum springer, that isn’t too heavy, and is well balanced, without sacrificing quality of worksmanship/materials.
My opinion, for what it is worth- my favorite springer of all time is my “old school” .177 Gamo whisper. It drives tacks with RWS SuperMag.
Old school Whisper has the best combination of power, weight, and balance of any spring gun I have used. Also does not have any of the shortcomings of the new crop of Gamo breakbarrels, with regards to the pivot or plastic trigger.
It’s no Weihrauch but it is a perfect field gun.
