Tuning Gamo Urban hammer spring adjuster won’t budge

I want to experiment with different tension settings for the hammer spring in my Gamo Urban. When I attempted to adjust it with my 4mm Allen key, I found that it would not budge in either direction. I just used hand pressure, but a decent amount. It won’t turn counter clockwise or clockwise. Has anyone encountered this issue and been able to get past it? I don’t want to damage anything. My goal was to back it out and count the turns to get an idea of the factory setting, then turn it back in and tune it past the factory setting and test accuracy with the 14.3 Premiers I currently use, then eventually dial in with a heavier pellet. This is my turkey gun, and I have decided I’d like to get a little more reach out of it if possible.

Well for what it’s worth I got it to move. I could see there was definitely thread distance for it to back out, so I added more pressure counterclockwise and it finally freed up. I’ll leave the post here in case someone else has the same problem and googles it.

My Buccaneer had 14 turns in from the dealer. I was able to get another 2 turns before it slipped its thread. Increased my velocity by 50fps.

Well found out the hard way .. hope i didn’t bugger up the threads trying to go back out with it. Its pretty tight, not overly forced tight but i did prop do enough to damaged the threads.
Does that whole assembly come apart? I loosed the one screw through the trigger assembly but it didn’t budge. I know this is a older post, hoping someone sees it.

I'm trying to increase the power for my Urban. I've had it all apart 3-4 years ago but from what I can tell now looking at it, there is only 1/8" adjustment at best in the set screw (mine is a 3mm). and I can't see how this will change distance for the hammer. My spring is not touching or under any tension when not cocked so I'm going to start by stretching it a tad and see what happens. I think the answer is to just get a stronger spring. If stretching helps, I'll search for a stiffer replacement.

Can u get a washer under the spring?

I thought about that but ruined my spring when trying to stretch it. I'm going to order a new one and try that when it gets here if needed. There are 2 different springs and I'm not sure which one I had so if the new one is stronger it may solve the problem.
