Gamo Swarm CAT trigger replacement

First Posting:

Hello all,

I have a Swarm Maxxim Gen 2 in .177 with late model CAT trigger (metal, not plastic. see pic and ignore 2nd stage screw reference). I have used the longer screw mod for the 2nd stage but I am still not pleased with the result. I would like to actually lighten the pull weight, which would mean replacing the trigger (unless there is another way I am not aware of). I know the GRT-4 replaces the plastic CAT, but does anyone know if it replaces this later metal version as well? If not, does anyone know of another aftermarket trigger that would work or another way I may not be thinking of to lighten the pull? Thanks again for the help.

I see this has gone a couple of days with no reply. I think most folks here don't own Gamo and maybe look down on them. Ask about a Weirauch and you'll get all kinds of answers. I have a Gamo swarm fusion and I did the trigger screw replacement too and it's still a not so good trigger. Also I had terrible results with the swarm feed and just took it off. It sucked on my gun. For more Gamo info another forum, Gateway to Airguns (GTA), has a sub-forum for Spanish/Gamo rifles. You'll get more info there I think.

And fwiw, I have since bought a Weirauch HW50s. It is SO far above my Gamo in every way, quality build, accuracy, quietness, and a trigger you have to feel to appreciate just how good it is. It's more money, but WELL worth it.

Yes the GRT has two versions. I’ve replaced the old metal triggers and new plastic ones. It’s a world better then any at home trigger mod by a massive margin. I have videos of trigger internals if needed. I also polish sear contacts with the GRT replacement. Also ... my target gamo shoots consistently under .2 at 35 yards so let people look down on them lol. Gamos barrels are far superior to most guns in that price range. Now HW does have a great reputation but it is well deserved for many reasons, particularly they make their own barrels which is nearly unheard of. A good barrel crucial to good accuracy and not many people produce them for airguns.
