When you read the actual reviews (there's only 11 of them) most are just comments that it's much smaller than the photo would indicate. Most people said that it works as advertised but it probably works best for rifles in .22 or maybe .25. The people who gave it poor reviews were using .177 pistols, so yeah, I could see how that might be a disappointment for them.
