gamo cfr .177 ok

finally got around to shooting my pawn shop cfr whisper.i took it apart and did Honda 70 moly and maccari tar on the spring.it really tamed the firing cycle.its shooting 1/2 to 3/4 at 25 yards with jsb exact 8.44.i hated the rotating breech at first but I'm getting used to it.

anybody else shoot one?

I have shot one in the past and I like them! I got used to the rotating breech after shooting it a bit. When I first saw the design I didn't like it but got used to it!

it's not a tx200 ,lgu or 97k but for a 25 yard beater field gun it's pretty darn good.

I have the older cfx model in 177 and it was the best gun i ever had til i sent it away to get tuned. Now the gun is unused and i hate it. Was a popular guy who did it too. Live and learn. I always think about trying the cfr because my tx200 is so heavy.

I think I own something similar to that. Underlever, rotating breech, Gamo in .22. *Yeah, it was called the Accu Shot. 

It was my “gateway” gun/drug into this world, it was accurate enough to take squirrels out to 30 yards, but the shot cycle was horrible. Now it can’t group 6 inches at 25 yards. It sits in my workshop as a doorstop. 

It’s always satisfying to have something that is not top end performing well. One day I may take it appart and see if I can make it shoot again. I actually liked the rotating breech ok.

I had a CFX back in the day and it was plenty accurate. It was one of the first guns I "lube tuned" , installed the Gold trigger etc. Even shot a few squirrels with it but I sold it cause it wasn't shooting fast enough. Lol. Could only get it to 900 fps with 7.9 Chp. I wanted it to shoot 1000 fps. Live and learn as they say. I owned a half dozen Gamos and all but one were great shooters. Black Shadow in .22 was my favorite.
