Gamo 4x15 Scope...Backward Lens?

I purchased a cheap Gamo 4x15 scope to use with my Umarex NXG APX cheap gun. On paper they should be a match made in heaven, but not in reality. I received the scope today and something is backwards. Instead of making things look bigger and closer everything is smaller and farther away. I suspect that one of the lenses is in backward. Has anyone else heard or seen this before? I looked over the reviews on Amazon and sure enough someone else reported the same issue.

Wow, i have never heard of that happening. Sounds like a serious qc issue! When you look through the scope backwards does it magnify? Just curious. Also, if you are willing to spend around $50 i can say the hammers 3-9×32 i got from amazon is awesome!

That's more than I paid for the gun, but at this point I'm considering it...

Haha, at least the lenses will be right. And you never know you may get more out of the gun than you expect.

I just went to the local Big 5 Sporting Good store and bought this for $25

i had to start out at less than 10 ft because it was shooting so far off target I couldn't figure out how to adjust it. Now it's doing pretty well at about 10 yards.

The response from GamoUSA is: "You're looking through the wrong end"

I never claimed to be smart, but I've also never encountered a scope that requires the viewer to look through the objective lens. In this scope looking through the other end doesn't make things farther away, but isn't really magnifying anything either. I think I'll just write this off as a learning experience.

Glad you found something. I have never been a Gamo fan, but after a reaponse like that they will never see a cent from me or any of my airgun friends that ask my opinion. Thanks for the post, we can all learn from your experience, cheap gear costs more in the long run right.
